Strengthening Colombia-U.S. Relations through Multisectoral Collaboration

September 17, 2024

Colombia is expanding its diplomatic efforts, showcasing a more comprehensive vision of our nation. By collaborating with leading institutions in the United States and global thought leaders, we continue to expand and foster deeper connections on Colombia's socially inclusive agenda.

Ambassador Daniel García-Peña Jaramillo met with The Honorable Stuart W. Holliday, CEO of Meridian International Center, to discuss expanding diplomatic cooperation beyond traditional subjects. The conversation centered on how health, science, technology, culture, and sports can be integrated into diplomatic efforts to address global challenges more effectively.

In a separate meeting, Ambassador García-Peña partook in a roundtable with the Atlantic Council's Colombia-U.S. Advisory Group. The discussion centred on strengthening ties with key U.S. stakeholders in security, economic development, and climate resilience. This engagement highlighted Colombia's efforts to work closely with research institutions and global leaders to advance shared objectives and present a more comprehensive view of Colombia.
