For the first time, on the occasion of Colombia's National Day, the Embassy of Colombia in Washington and the White House invited Colombian-American leaders to celebrate the bilateral relation and highlight the Colombian diaspora's achievements in the United States.
In honor of two centuries of diplomatic relations and to advance our work towards an increasingly broad and diverse shared agenda, Colombia Day at the White House, presented an opportunity to highlight the ties between our people and our nations.
In attendance, H.E. Luis Gilberto Murillo, Colombian Ambassador to the United States and Mr Juan González, Special Assistant to President Biden and Senior Director for the Western Hemisphere, marked the event as a celebration of our nation's special relationship together with Biden-Harris Administration officials.
"Today, we honor the diversity of our country and the talent of our people. Colombia Day at the White House is the recognition by the governments of Colombia and the United States of our vibrant diaspora in the United States. I invite you to continue generating ties between our cultures and showing the world the richness of our nation," said the Ambassador of Colombia to the United States, Luis Gilberto Murillo.
In addition to commemorating our solid bilateral relation, guests enjoyed our flowers, Colombian coffee, cacao and traditional bakes. #ColombiaDayAtTheWhiteHouse
