This year the Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Adriana Mejía, represents Colombia, which recognizes freedom of religion and worship as part of its constitutional tradition. This recognition was reaffirmed as a fundamental right in the 1991 Political Constitution. "This Ministerial Conference is an appropriate space, which Colombia attends with great interest, to address the global challenges to religious freedom, identify ways to address religious persecution and discrimination around the world, and promote greater respect for and preservation of religious freedom for all," said Vice Minister Mejía.
