President Ivan Duque mentioned today that it is "our moral duty that Colombia be free of drugs and drug trafficking," after stressing the commitment of his government in the fight against this problem. This affirmation was made during the meeting he held this Wednesday with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in the Oval Office of the White House, in Washington.

The Colombian President, who last Wednesday began his official working visit to that country, said about the eradication of illicit crops that "we have a goal and we are committed to that goal.

During the meeting between the presidents and the journalists, the Colombian head of state stated that "in the first four months of our administration, we eradicated 60,000 hectares, more than what was eradicated in the previous eight months.

For his part, President Trump affirmed that "we are working together so that Colombia can eradicate what is being cultivated in Colombia, and at this moment we can say that they are eradicating according to their schedule.
