The former Vice President of Colombia (2002-2010), Francisco Santos is appointed as Ambassador of Colombia to the United States

President Iván Duque made official the appointment of Francisco Santos as Colombia’s envoy before the White House. The President assigned the official specific tasks:
"Strengthen both military cooperation and the commercial relationship between the two countries. Our relationship with the United States must be an instrument in favor of science, technology, and innovation, "said the President.
The act of possession took place at the Casa de Nariño in Bogotá, Colombia. The new Ambassador-designate to the United States was accompanied by his children and his wife María Victoria.
