Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo made an official visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York

On Thursday, August 23, Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo made an official visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York, in order to hold meetings with senior officials of the Organization and members of the Security Council.
Chancellor Trujillo's agenda includes a meeting with the General Secretary of the United Nations, António Guterres; and another one with the President-elect of the General Assembly of the Organization, María Fernanda Espinosa; a working lunch with the ambassadors and permanent representatives of the 15 member countries of the Security Council; and a meeting with the ambassadors and permanent representatives of the 5 countries that, within the scheme of rotation of Nonpermanent Members of this Council, begin their term as of January 1, 2019.
This visit, the first one made by Foreign Minister Trujillo to the UN since his inauguration as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, is part of a series of activities undertaken in order to advance the process of consolidating Colombia's international agenda, and seeks to share with the Organization the vision of the Government of President Iván Duque in thematic areas of priority interest for our country.
