As Colombia commemorated the 200th anniversary of its independence on July 20, Colombian Ambassador to the United States Carolina Barco joined Mayor James Milinazzo and the Lowell Colombian-American community on Sunday, July 18 for a bicentennial Independence Day celebration. Ambassador Barco, Mayor Milinazzo and members of the City Council delivered remarks about the importance of this historic occasion. The event also featured live musical performances and other festivities.
