The Cultural area of the Embassy is dedicated to the promotion of Colombian culture in the United States following the guidelines dictated by the Bureau of Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Relations. Our main goal is to generate awareness about the richness and diversity of the different cultural expressions that exist in Colombia today. 

Cultural exchange is a powerful tool to strengthen relations between countries and allow citizens to better relate and understand the origins and situations facing a nation. By organizing artistic performances and exhibitions, the Embassy of Colombia wants to celebrate Colombia’s diversity and bring it closer to the Washington community.   The exhibitions, displayed at the Embassy of Colombia or within events such as the African American week or the Hispanic Heritage Month, are carefully selected by the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy to provide visitors and audiences the best scope of the richness and diversity of Colombia’s culture.
